During the Victorian era, it became known as a "Butler's Ball", aiding staff to keep a discreet eye on house guests and for parents to keep an eye on courting couples. Used in meditation garden's it serves a focal point for quiet thought sit and reflect.
Whatever the original meaning, the gazing ball has stood the test of time as as beautiful accent in any garden. Today's globes come in a variety of styles and finishes to compliment any indoor or outdoor space.
